Who This Credential Is Actually For
Being honest about level makes the credential more useful, not less.
Students and career entrants. CIW has a substantial presence in education, including school and college programmes, and Web Foundations is frequently the first IT credential someone earns. As evidence that a candidate with no work history has foundational knowledge, it does a real job.
Non-technical roles in technical environments. Someone in marketing, administration, or operations who needs credible baseline internet and security literacy.

How to present it. Name it plainly and date it: “CIW Internet Business Associate (1D0-61A), 2013.” If it is your only credential, it is worth listing. If you hold substantial technical credentials or experience, it usually belongs lower on the page or not at all, simply because it does not add information about you.
Do not inflate it. Describing a 30-minute foundational exam as though it were a professional certification is the kind of thing that damages credibility when a reader knows the programme.
